Hello All
OOOh. What can I say Firstly thank you Che Mar! I am a parent of 3 beautiful children aged 15, 13 and 5. My eldest two are diagnosed with special needs - the second with autism and the third - well he's just a monster. The most beautiful monster i will add I came across this forum due to work I am undertaking. I worked as a hostage negoiator and drug therapeutic officer for 15 years and then after the birth of my last child decided enough was enough. So i got re-educated and am now a "complimentary therapist". Due to further study i am currently working with Birmingham hostpital and Staffordshire uni (England) to evaluate comp therapies role/place within our health service with particular emphasis on dementia. (the consultant i am working with is very progressive and quite upset at the drugs that are prescribed to just "keep em quiet" I also work with a number of sports people remedially and have my own clinic where i treat a variety of conditions. I feel that i am going on a bit of an indulgent roll here! I have my own demons and health issues but chose to ignore them as best i can. (I don't think my husband would agree). And on that note cannot think of anything else to bored you with Thank you for allowing me to join this forum May love, light and hope be with you all Fideal |

???? Where they give a therapy session for free, or are you a "complementary therapist" and if the latter, what is that? I would think most therapist would be viewed by medical doctors, for medical conditions as "complementary". Even people with diabetes and any life-altering or chronic condition could probably use a "complementary therapist."

LOL - very good Jasper Its amazing what 2 days sleep deprevation can do to the mind!, and fingers! Basically i am a Complementary therapist that specialises in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Sports and remedial massage, nutritional profiling and a few other bits and pieces. Just completing a degree (good job none of my peers saw that! ) and due for passing out in June - so furiously working to collate data - and critique this jumble of a thesis. There are many studies that support the use of these therapies in palative and even primary care. People need choices. I believe these things should be available on the national health system and am currently working with a uni to get funding so that these treatments can get to poeple who otherwise wouldn't get them. So fingers crossed |
