Default Hello!

I stumbled across your board while researching the results of my first MRI. I'm Kristin. I've been struggling for some time now with neuro symptoms, but was dx'd bipolar in October. I'm 30, married with 3 kids under 5. In the last two weeks I've lost feeling in my right hand and developed clear right-sided weakness. I'm also dizzy and off balance to the point of falling over. My mentation is terrible - I can't find words, spell, recall basic information (and I finished grad school with a 4.0 less a little over a year ago). I saw the neuro yesterday, he suspected MS, I was in the MRI an hour later. He called at dinnertime last night to say that the brain MRI was clear except for one spot on the brain stem. He had not seen the c-spine MRI yet, but would let me know more once he'd seen it. Based on the initial MRI he no longer suspects MS - instead, B-12 def. or Lyme disease.

So I'm patiently (well, as patiently as one can!) waiting for more information about the scan and the state of my squash. Any advice, words of wisdom, or suggestions are totally welcome!

Hello Kristin and Welcome to Neurotalk. It sounds like you've got the ball rolling w/your Dr on trying to figure out what's going on w/you. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes more tests and continued vigilance to figure it out. Hope you can get some definitive answers soon. I am glad, however, that you found NT and hope you take a look around and make yourself at home.
