Default My name is Kevin, I am new here

Hiya. I found this forum while looking for more information about Peripheral Neuropathy. I am a 35 yr old middle school teacher in Washington State.

I normally have questions related to Peripheral Neuropathy (Sensory and Motor) I get a lot of pain from it and since November it has also spread into my hands despite my attempts to keep my blood sugars on track. The motor neuropathy is mainly in my left lower leg and I am getting a drop foot and have almost no ankle strenth. I get an AFO for it soon.

I also sometimes have questions about Type 2 Diabetes, Gastroparesis, and Depression.

Its nice to be here.
Cheers

Hi Kevin,

My son-in-law suffers from Heriditary Sensor and Motor Neuropathy (HMSN) and he said he would be happy to answer any questions that you might have. He was born with his condition, but was only diagnosed when he was 27.

He said if you suffer from lots of night cramps (they are named screaming night cramps for a reason) then Quininne Bisulphate will really help you.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Mary J

Hi Kevin -

Welcome to the board!

I'm also kinda new to the peripheral neuropathy thing - it started for me about a year and a half ago. I've has MS for 21 years, so there may be a reason for it...

I take Lyrica for it. Just started so don't know if it works yet.
