I was looking at the post. I seen you that some of you have it in the same area as I do with RSD. I haven't walked in 7 months an go to PT 3 times a week. My fear is when I learn to walk again. Can Rsd attack an knock me down where I have to learn how to walk again? I broke my foot back in Aug of 08. 4 cast later foot no better. Seen another Doctor an he knew right away. I get depress but keep on going. I don't like people to see me! Is this common? Oh an can it spread up my leg. It has made it from my foot to my knee. It is always cold, swells, changes color an some days hard to even get up. Yet I force myself. I refuse to give in. I have a walker at home an just got fitted for a prosthetic AFO. I know I have along journey. I feel so alone. Friends have been dear to me. Family members don't understand.
Thank you for your time |

Hi Lisa, and welcome to NeuroTalk! I can't answer your poll, because I don't suffer with RSD. MS is my disease. I can, however, give you this link to the RSD forum. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum21.html Please take some time to look around. There are a lot of interesting forums, and many helpful and caring people here.

Hi, BL! It's nice to meet you! Welcome to the NeuroTalk Forums. It sounds like you are having a lot of problems there. I've begun to think that it's pretty common for family members to find it hard to understand what we are going through. Maybe it's because they've seen us the same way all our lives, and the change is hard on them. Who knows? My father and two siblings still say it's probably in my head...after seven years. I hope your RSD will become more controllable, and you won't always feel so bad. One thing which one my doctors told me which always sticks in my mind is that anyone who is sick for over a year has to be depressed, too, so I'm going to give you a link to the depression forum. Good luck and best of wishes, BL!

Welcome friend Glad you found us. I feel your pain. It is impossible for family to see what you feel. I can't get over them not understanding my pain and my problems are with me no matter what happens or where I go or what I do or what needs to be done. I have found that writing notes, and sometimes specific instructions because they can't read your mind either, can get a lot more done. |
