Default Hello to fellow pyrolurics . . .

Hello all,

What a fantastic network, this is! Can't believe I have only just stumbled across it. My name is Kathryn, and I have only just been diagnosed with Pyroluria. For YEARS I have been searching/reading/researching all things posible for the cause of my severe depression and associated symptoms; chronic anxiety being one of them. I bit the bullet after the birth of my second son and started on Zoloft in June, 2005. It was a VERY slow uptake to 200mg.

I recently found a FANTASTIC Doc. who had me test for Pyroluria. Well, it came back positive! I'm over the moon (!!??) Nice to have a foundation to work from. I've just started on B6 and p5p; zinc arriving in the mail soon.

Anyway, I'd love to hear from those out there who also live with pyroluria, and to share with me all the information they can! Starting from the very basics please -- where is a good place to start?

Quickly skimming over the posts here, it seems there is a strong link with gluten sensitivity? Would love to hear more . . .

Regards
Kathryn

Hi Kathryn, just wanted to welcome you to the community. I don't share your particular diagnosis, but this is a big boat, and we're all in it together. You'll find lots of support here, and there's almost always somebody home if you want to talk. Check out the "non-medical" forums, too, for social chat, humor, spirituality, pets, etc.

Hi Kathryn, and a warm welcome to NeuroTalk! There are so many forums here with interesting topics, and lots of nice and helpful people.

Take a look around, you will fit right in. I learned something new today. I'd never heard of pyroluria, so I looked it up.

Again, welcome to the group!

Glad you are here too. I 'stumbled' on this sight too! I have autoimmune diseases and MS so the idea of me stumbling around the internet is a funny one!

Don't have what you have...Glad you found it here...everyone seems so nice....
