Default Back Pain

had a recent fall from step ladder, injuring my right side. Intial DX was bruised ribs. After 2 weeks, pain was still unbearable. Had MRI Thoracic spine. Findings: Caudal disk extrusion with annular tear at T9/T10 with near cord contact, Left paracentral caudal disk extrusion with associated annular tear at T2/T3 with flattening of the ventral thoracic cord, and shallow left paracentral disk herniation at T1/T2 with no cord contact. Treatment was Ibuprofen, tramadol & norflex. Dr. then took me off norflex beause it was making me dizzy and put me on prednisone. 2 days ago got severe pain and numbness on left side-buttocks radiating down leg. I slipped & fell on ice 2 months ago and fell on left hip- had pain for about 2 weeks. Would recent thoracic injury to right side cause left side lumbar pain? Can MRI deterime old or new injury

First I just want to give you a welcome. You had a pretty bad fall my dear. As for the other fall. You possible did a little damage the lumbar a few months ago and this fall could have made it more severe. You should mention it to your ortho doc and go from there. They may need to do an MRI of your lumbar spine.

So sorry your going through so much at this time and pray that you will get some relief soon. You take care and know that you can email or pm me anytime....

Hello Glynda and welcome to our little corner of the world. I'm a back/spine pain sufferer too, so can understand some of your pain. I also have other ailments, but when my back hurts, I am miserable.

I too, have taken many spills and yes, they do tend to worsen every time. I hope you can get some pain relief and answers soon. Please make yourself at home here; everyone is really great at NT.

Glad you found us.
