Default Please help......

I am a single mom with 10-year old child. She has bipolar but as a parent I feel several other areas need to be reviewed. She was hearing voices that were telling her to stab herself with a knife along with seeing dead people with no heads. Placed in a hospital in NC and AZ. She is on meds. for this but having break through aggression, impulse behavior, and crying.
The meds. are: Zoloft, Resperdal, and newest is Depakote. Can anyone relate with this???

Thanks

It's not easy dealing with all that, I'm sure.

I'm so sorry that a child so young is having such deep problems. It would take a lot of patience and guidance. I know your heart is troubled by this.

Those drugs seem to be the family of drugs used for those symptoms. I hope you find good help.

You are in our prayers.

I have worked at our county mental health facility for 10 years even though I am not a health care professional. I work at the outpatient clinic. From my experience of seeing many many clients from ages 18 on up with BiPolar disorder, it CAN be treated effectively, sometimes it takes many hits and misses with medicines and different combinations of medicines. One of our case managers has bipolar and functions extrememly well with the excellent care of her doctor and meds. Keep your faith and don't lose hope.
