Default hey ya'll

My name is greg, just used graig to make it easier; My wife Karen, love of my life, has this mean ol' monster. For nigh about twelve years or so,now. Almost at full-body we're pretty sure, I don't know if that's how ya'll refer to it when it has spread extensively. She was in remission when we met. She would tell me about RSD and show me her arm and say how she was disabled but frankly i just couldn't see that she was disabled. (But I need ya'll to know that it wouldn't have made ANY Difference to me anyway; if anything, I love her more today than i did ten years ago)
Well the remission lasted maybe a year for her, then it came back with a vengence. It started from an assault in '95 when her right shoulder was injured, rotator cuff and all that. She also sustained some spinal injuries that didn't leave her paralyzed or anything but has left her with degenerative disc disease on top of the RSD.
Chances are, ya'll will never see her on here as it has become too difficult to deal with 'puters and mice(mouses?) She's got the biggest heart of anyone i've ever known, and I find myself destroyed by her constant torment. I'm sure this is a common sentiment expressed on this site.
I've been on a couple of similar sites over the years but have quit or given up as work constraints had increased. But, hey! Guess what? Work constraints aren't in the equation anymore thanks to our dwindling economy. I got laid off from my job of 9 years January 26, and am on unemployment. We've been really fortunate to not have to scramble too much to make ends meet. I've enjoyed being able to care for her more than i was while working.
ANYWAYS.............Sorry to go on and on, but I(WE) look forward to talking to ya'll, and yes,.....I am from the South(Texas) and Karen is from St Louis, but I've got her sayin' things like ya'll and phrases like fixin' to go to sleep. So, like I said, I'm glad to maybe get to know ya'll and all that.

Keep up the good fight,
Graig

Hi there, Greg/Graig! Welcome to the community. Have you checked out the RSD forum yet? Here's the link: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum21.html

Looking forward to hearing more from you, and perhaps eventually your wife will feel comfortable here, too. Hey, I know, she can stand behind you and dictate...that's what we women like to do anyway.

You'll find lots of support here, and pretty soon we'll be saying "y'all" and "I 'bout fell out" and "do what?" like my brother in NC.

Hey there Graig!! That's exactly how we say "Greg" over here in Georgia, too!

Welcome to NeuroTalk.....I'm so glad you joined us here. I'm posting a link to the Caregivers Forum for you in case you haven't visited there yet. Here it is: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum56.html.

I'm so sorry for Karen's struggles with RSD but just know that having a supportive hubby like yourself makes the challenge much easier to deal with. You're a gem and I'm sure she realizes just how blessed she is.

Welcome again to the board!

Hello Graig, and welcome to NeuroTalk!

Maybe eventually your wife can sit beside you at the computer, and you both can get some benefit from the forums here. There are so many nice and caring people who post on NT, and it is such a great place to hang out.
