Default Also new, and excited for support!

Hello there!

Thank you for taking the time for reading my post, in advance.

I'll get the hard stuff out of the way first. My name is Sarah, and I've had Panic Anxiety Disorder since I was in the seventh grade. No psychiatrist figured out that I was also type I Bipolar, until I switched to a wonderful doctor and was informed at the age of 18. I've been seeing this doctor for four years now. I have what he considers to be severe mood swings, as well as a very high level of anxiety. I don't tolerate my medications well, because I have an obnoxious liver. This makes things hard, so I have to switch out medications just about every three to four months.

Something exciting that may happen soon, is that I may get a Psychiatric Service Dog! I would like to know who on this site has one, and how the dog has helped them cope.

I hope to support and be supported by this website, and please be encouraged that there is always a silver lining, even when it seems like there are only gray clouds above. I hope you will join me in overcoming each of our individual battles! We're not alone.

God bless you all.

Welcome, SaraBeth! It's really nice to meet you! You have such an upbeat attitude! I don't have a psychic dog, but I've studied them, and how they work and help. I sure hope that yours gives you the freedom of knowing what to prepare for. Good luck, and please feel free to write whenever you want!

Richie

Hello Sarah, and welcome to NeuroTalk! This is such a great place to hang out, with so many friendly, caring, and helpful people.

You mention a service dog. I have MS, and I have a service dog named Montana (see avatar) who is a wonderful help to me, both physically and mentally. They can completely change your life, these wonderful animals.

Here is a link to the Service Animal forum:

Hi Sarah,

I don't believe anyone in our bipolar group has a service dog. But you
are welcome to join us and talk to others with bipolar.

I'm Donna and I hang out there a lot.

Donna
