Default I am so relieved!

I was sitting in my kitchen, slightly panicked at the thought of starting my new medication for PD. I "Googled" Amantidine, and immediately hit on this wonderful site. Just reading about others who have/are experiencing the same symptoms has given me such support.

I have been diagnosed with PD for 14 years. On good days I consider myself very lucky, as it has progressed very slowly. The goods days are many, but some - like today- can be difficult. I do not suffer from tremors, but my legs/ankles are very weak. I am very slow, and lately my sinemet has been wearing off/taking longer to work. I am extremely wary of taking any new meds...hence the scene at my kitchen table!!

I took the Amantadine....and now I am going to play cards with my grandson. Wish me luck!

Thank you for sharing your stories. They helped me through a difficult morning.

Good luck! But, Amantadine is often used for just the tremor component and no one knows how it works. Blessing that your PD has progressed so slowly. Wishing you well.

Hello pacific, and welcome to NeuroTalk! This is such a great place!

I'm going to assume by PD you mean Parkinson's, and I've posted a link to their forum below.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum34.html

I wish you the best on your new medication.
