Wink Ticky ticky ticky

I received this email last week and forwarded it to a few friends. Read it first, then I'll tell you the Rest of the Story.

TICK WARNING!

I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it myself a couple times unintentionally...but this one is
real, and it's important. So please send this warning to
everyone on your e-mail list.

If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking
for ticks due to the warm weather and asks you to take your
clothes off and dance around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!!

THIS IS A SCAM!! They only want to see you naked.
I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.

As I exited the shower this morning I saw a bug on the floor. Thought it was a spider, but it didn't scurry away. Squashed the thing with a tissue, then took it upstairs to get a closer look with my reading glasses. Checked it out on Wikipedia and....

Yep, it was a big ole tick!

I remember pulling big ole fat gray ones from my dog's neck when I was a kid. Glad this one hadn't filled up yet. Sheesh! Like I need Lyme disease on top of MS.

Now it's time for bed and I wonder if his brother is waiting for me between the sheets??? I did check them, but didn't have time to wash them. Shook my fav PJs out really good. Now I'll prolly have icky bug-filled dreams all night. Ewwwww!!!
*shudder*

I must admit that there was a time that I was guilty of inadvertently forwarding scam emails too.

Now if I receive a "warning" or something that looks suss, I never send it on until I've checked it out for myself. Eight times out of ten they turn out to be hoaxes, and I simply delete the hoax ones.

The site I use to check them out is Hoax Slayer : http://www.hoax-slayer.com/

When I lived in Colorado it was Rocky Mtn Tick Fever..Here in MN it's tiny, impossible to see deer ticks and Lyme disease..Not enough to make me wanna open the door to strangers & dance naked..Door closed, different story..

I still smile when I realise just naive I am some times, especially after I posted this "oh so down to earth" reply to Twink's thread. Trust me for the funny stuff to go straight over my head......
