I received this email last week and forwarded it to a few friends. Read it first, then I'll tell you the Rest of the Story.


TICK WARNING!

I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it myself a couple times unintentionally...but this one is
real, and it's important. So please send this warning to
everyone on your e-mail list.

If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking
for ticks due to the warm weather and asks you to take your
clothes off and dance around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!!

THIS IS A SCAM!! They only want to see you naked.
I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.


As I exited the shower this morning I saw a bug on the floor. Thought it was a spider, but it didn't scurry away. Squashed the thing with a tissue, then took it upstairs to get a closer look with my reading glasses. Checked it out on Wikipedia and....

Yep, it was a big ole tick!

I remember pulling big ole fat gray ones from my dog's neck when I was a kid. Glad this one hadn't filled up yet. Sheesh! Like I need Lyme disease on top of MS.

Now it's time for bed and I wonder if his brother is waiting for me between the sheets??? I did check them, but didn't have time to wash them. Shook my fav PJs out really good. Now I'll prolly have icky bug-filled dreams all night. Ewwwww!!! *shudder*

I must admit that there was a time that I was guilty of inadvertently forwarding scam emails too.

Now if I receive a "warning" or something that looks suss, I never send it on until I've checked it out for myself. Eight times out of ten they turn out to be hoaxes, and I simply delete the hoax ones.

I know just how you feel, ticks and lyme disease are widespread here.
Four people in my family have needed long term care for Lyme. My nephew who lives with me, and myself are currently on doxy for it. Bluck I no likey ticks! Blood sucking spiders is what they are LOL

When I lived in Colorado it was Rocky Mtn Tick Fever..Here in MN it's tiny, impossible to see deer ticks and Lyme disease..Not enough to make me wanna open the door to strangers & dance naked..Door closed, different story..

I had picked two ticks off the baby this season....we had a long cool spring...so many ticks daily...dont live in country or anything..just from the good old yard...and the baby wasnt crawling outside...so probably around house from one of us....uggggg hate ticks...ewwww sarah (they werent attached yet on the baby though yeahh)

Yeeesh! I had no idea they hung out in plain ole yards. Or that they could transfer so easily from person to person. Ick! Glad they weren't attached!

DH and Dog got Lyme Disease. (lots of deer in woods next to us). Both took antibiotics. DH seems fine, dog gets hip shimmy (downwards like pooping sometimes. Looks neurological.)

Twink true story for ya
Family and I went island camping on river here with boat for long weekend of floundering and fishing. we camped for 3 mights...primative style no bathrooms etc... tied bells on my twos little ones shoes so i could hear if they got out of my sight etc etc.
so we get back home and bath time for kids. oldest and youngest share bath both girls anyways all the sudden i hear this loud scream that tunred into a cry. I ran inot bathroom and my little one is crying mommy there is a big spider in my belly button . The oldest is up on the toilet seat half freaking out over spider in little sis belly button. well it was a tick stuck right in there starting to get fat . I about died .
I never had any of us tested for lyme. I guess i should look into it and find out symptoms and the info on it. this was when she was 3 she is now 14. can it hide and get you years later that lyme illness? I will have to check it out
