Default Bipolar parent of bipolar child

I am bp. I was diagnosed a little over 2 yrs ago and it has been a roller coaster trying to get my meds right. I also have anxiety.. To complicate things my son was diagnosed with bp and add last year. He is unstable. we cant get his meds right and now he is talking about wanting to die and yesterday he tried to suffocate himself. He is only 10 yrs old. I'm really scared and do not know how to be strong through all of this. I have contacted his counselor and his dr. He cant get in to see his dr until monday. I just need some emotional support
I guess.

I hope that you have real-life support in your lives. It is nearly impossible for one parent to try to do everything especially when you yourself are battling illness.

I am curious that you got problems 2 years ago, then your youngest so got problems 1 year later. Do you think this is a domino effect, i.e. you had some huge stressor in your life causing vulnerability then one after the other succumbs to added stress. It often happens in families where one person gets ill (any severe illness) and they all start falling to depression, etc one after the other. Thus -- the domino effect.
