Ok our son has been on Seroquel since he was diagnosed as bipolar about a year ago. He has gained about 40 pounds. This week he has started acting drunk, falls asleep sitting with us n the living room and started slurring. He walks slow and moves slow. All within the past week. We have watched his meds and he isn't overdosing or anything. We are worried and confused. He find go in for lab tests today.

I am pretty sure the effects (the weight, the falling asleep, the slurring words) are directly related to the Seroquel. Talk to the doctor. The docs give us meds. We report the side effects and, depending on how bad/ not bad the side effects are, the doc gives us a different med. And yes, it can happen even after having been on the med for a while. Good luck.
