Frown Looking for success stories regarding bipolar children and pyrlouria

Hello all,

I'm looking to hear from people who've had success with their bipolar children who've been diagnosed with pyroluria and have been treated for it.

My 13 year old son hit a major stumbling block with his bipolar and has regressed almost to the same place he was before he was on medication. I'm close to despair on this and am placing my hope in my theory that he suffers in part from pyroluria. He exibits several characteristics although he has not yet been medically diagnosed.

I guess what I'm looking for is actual confirmation from parents on this condition and its treatability and that my hope is not false.

Any information would be welcomed.

Thanks to all,

AriesWriter

There is only two possibilities in my opinion:

1. The easier one, but only temporarily succesfull, is to swamp him with B6 and zinc. Until his body and mind absorb enough of it in spite of his condition. That way he will temporarily be sane, and you will get your break, until the next **** hits the fan.

2. You put him on a diet of boiled parsnip and pure water (so, not the water contaminated with residual medicine that comes out of your tap) for at least a week, preferably two, and see him relax. No matter how much he protests/hates your measures. Then, you add any kind of food/herb/condiment one by one, and if you see him having an adverse reaction, it goes out and stays out. This will give you a lasting effect.

Hi,
Welcome!

I like Minymo's suggestion about looking for food allergies.

Also try the vitamin forum here:

We don't have a lot of parents with bipolar children posting here in bipolar at this moment.
