Well I just got back from having a long talk with my son and his girlfriend's mother. Lord I so disapprove of this whole thing but what do you do when you have a kid that is drowning and you don't particularly like his lifeline. I can't say I don't like her I just, I don't know. I guess I am afraid for him. They stay on him about his meds. He is made to help out. She makes sure they get out and get some exercise whether it is just walking around the block or playing frisbee out back.

I hate this, it takes up my every thought. Is this normal. When you have a child like this and these things happen is it normal to become almost obsessed with thoughts of trying to keep your child safe and happy. Almost impossible at this age to do both lol.

He is kind of mad at me, says I embarrassed him by having the talk at that particular time, house full of friends. We were outside so I don't know how much they heard. I apologized. Needed to be done.

hi, Christina,
Can you decide to worry about at only at certain times of the day like a cognitive behavorist might say?
20 minutes in the morning and then
20 minutes at night
And that is it.

The important news is that he is ok.
Lol that he is annoyed that you "embarrassed" him. He's a perfect teeenager. ;)

You trust the tdoc and this is what the tdoc said. So relax -- if you can -- and go with it for a while. You can always re-evaluate and change your mind.

I like that you and the mom had what sounds like a good conversation. She is going to watch out for him.

I think that your son must have a lot of good going for him to fall in with a family that is willing to take care of him.

Plus maybe he is starting to make his own way and his own luck. He apparently has impressed the mom enough that she wants him in her home and with her own daughter.

Whatever you are feeling is normal.
