Frown High school and bipolar

This morning I took my bipolar 16 yr old to his summer class. He bordered on tears all the way there. Sick to his stomach. He only throws up before school. He takes this class because he failed algebra last semester. He doesn't want to go. He only has 8 days, at 2 1/2 hours a day left. I empathize, I tell him I know how bad he feels but he can do this. It is easy, think good thoughts, you are almost done. I remember this, it is me at this age. The anxiety and depression unbearable and suddenly I want to take him home but know I can't. So I pat his leg and tell him he can do this it is almost over. He gets mad/sad and bullies his way out of the car mumbling about falling asleep in class. I cry as I drive home.

Dear Christina,
i can see how this is hard for you. . . driving him to school that he hates while he is still asleep basically and such.
I hope that you get through these 8 days.

I hope the same thing Mari does, that you can get through the next 8 days okay. Hang in there, High school is no fun but we survived right?

LOL actually I didn't. I wound up dropping out. I was in class one day and it was some kind of social something or other and the project was if you could pack ten things to take to a deserted island to survive what would they be. Okay I can do this, this is ninth grade mind you. So we are done and he goes around the room and is calling on people to read from their lists. Some of these girls took their hair dryers I mean seriously, makeup, fingernail polish, can they drink that? Maybe eat some of the makeup. I became furious. I was so mad at the stupidity. I kept thinking I am not them. I don't even want to be seen with them lol. I know, I was/am no prize but still to this day stupid people make me mad. I am talking about people who know better and do anyway or who have a brain but don't use it. Mean people too.

So I left that day and did not go back to high school. Instead I went and took two high school refresher courses and told them I wanted to take my GED but I wanted to use my scores to get my diploma. They said I couldn't, that there was no way I would get enough points on the GED to get the credits I would need to get my diploma. There were just too many. Well I showed them . I place so high in the nation that I got my GED and my high school diploma. Don't think they let you do that now, at least not here.

Well we are down to 6 days and still complaining lol

Christina

Wow, that was a great way you went.

And I'm so proud of your son, he is down to 6 days. He is going to make
this. With the help of his mother. And everyone else that he needs
to help him. I don't know if he is one that benefits from a half day
program, but in some areas you can do the kind of day you need.

So I would definately work on making the kind of program he needs.
YOu are one strong momma and he is one strong kid.

You can both do this. I can tell. And he needs to know that getting
his high school diploma will be the hardest thing he will do.

AMN KID!!!! Just tells me this morning that his stomach feels like it is on fire and has been for a long time and the vomiting is worse. Good lord why didn't he tell me this a long time ago. I just find out that his primary was supposed to schedule his food allergy test and they were supposed to do that at the beginning of the month!!!!! Not the GI doc. All the info was faxed to the primary and we have heard nothing. So I call the primary doc and all of a sudden a man is on the line speaking and it is my son's school. He is in the office, miserable and the summer principal wants to talk to me to try to get an understanding of what is going on. So I let him know and he says try to get some documentation and maybe we can get my son out early next week for the three days that are left.

Here I thought they were making us wait for the results of the blood work and then the GI specialist to come back. Krikey, if I had known that the stupid inefficient primary office was supposed to have done it then I would have been on them weeks ago.

Oh yeah to top it off he is taking Algebra II as a makeup summer course because he failed well I just found out that Algebra II is a course that he is allowed to spread out over 2 years under the EMI status. They didn't tell me that.

LOL what a mess!!!

Primary office has no idea what I am talking about, they are calling other doc, woo hoo we are having fun now lol.
