You did great.
So did your son.

And maybe I am a little bit in love with this social worker. I think you need to feel that you have someone on your team. Some social workers are natural problem solvers -- it's their thing -- so let her help him.

Was this social worker a school district employee or a state worker for your son? She sounds amazing!

Actually she is a school district employee and her office is right there on campus so she will have the opportunity to talk to my son and vice versa if anything comes up.

Maaaan I wish there were more Social Wokers like her in the districts I work with! That is awesome! Perhaps you could strike up a good relationship with her so that she would call you and keep you in the loop during this period he is with the grandma.

It won't matter that he is staying with his grandmother. I still take care of everything. I get the calls, the emails, the notices. He just stays there unofficially to blow off steam. They have her listed as an address for his dad so he can stay in the district.
