Default Personal hygiene mobility issues necessitate request for info about toilet attach

Bidets aka toilet accessories aka intimate cleansers aka, personal hygiene aids aka electric toilet seat genitalia washers are relatively expensive in the US and difficult to find, particularly on the West Coast.

On the net, the cost, complexity, warranty, service, and “luxury” features varies so widely as to make comparisons very difficult.

Doctors sometimes do not have information or volunteer usage impact on patients.

Medicare/Medicaid don’t acknowledge with insurance coverage, their benefits,
1. despite their obvious preventative aid in avoiding infection,
2. aid in maintaining patient’s independence,
3. environmental aid in less to no need for toilet paper, and simply that
4. this very basic daily function is needed by people with Parkinson’s.
who have mobility problems such as; stiffness, limited dexterity, tremor, dyskinesia, dystonia, and/or bradykinesia, all of which are primary symptoms of PD.

Because of their widespread availability, Wikipedia states that the least expensive place to buy a toilet seat bidet is the Middle East. (Also possibly Italy, Japan, ?)

Questions;
1. Does anyone have access or knowledge of access to getting relatively inexpensive, well made toilet seat bidets from the Middle East? So that those of us with PD who really need them, can afford to buy them before the men come home to the USA?
2. Are there any particular companies whose product is high quality with good service? (yes, I do have a sense of humor but please don’t make fun of me for asking.)

Thank you.

Default a great solution i have found

About a year ago I found a company which makes a self installed device called a bifffy. It is installed on your toilet in about 15 minutes time. I have been using it for almost a year and I think it is terrific and it costs less than $100.00.
Google it. hope this helps

Question re: personal hygiene mobility issues necessitate request....

I am baffled. Some have discribed crawling to get to the toilet in the morning when you first get up. Others have severe stiffness and/or tremor in your arms. Thread is about to dissappear onto the next page and only one comment was made. Does everyone but me, already have one of these?
If so, did they get help with the cost? Or does anyone think it is an important or unimportant issue? I thought there would be a lot more response?

Default ringing my bell

hey jingle bell,

Just a few words about what your thoughts or feelings about this are. Altho more comments would have been desired on your part, number of responses aren't what it's about. Many readers have seen your post and will take it somewhere in their minds if it's important enough to them. Chances are, they hadn't given it much thought - but who knows how many you may have inspired to check it out?

so don't take it personally - think of readers - you can't make people post. When is the last time you made a pwp type other than yourself? lol or to force a pwp to do anything ?

Coincidentally, i had to visit the rest room at the beach on Sunday and as i leaned over [ possibly too much information sorry], i accidentally called jingle belle. It was an exchange that included toilets and laughing.

Being in a public park, i had to multi task, after having asked the woman in the next booth to please hand me toilet tissue under the stall as i called jb - good thing i wear my nerdy blue tooth ear piece sometimes.

peace and laughter to you,
paula

Default I didn't get what the title was about.

Do you want to purchase a bidet? Higher end households ocasionally have them, and when we were in europe I actually got to use one. I quite liked it and wouldn't mind having one. They take up as much space as a toilet though,
and what about the plumbing?

very few have room for or $ for a seperate bidet.

if you go to any of the sites I listed above you will find most of these are
toilet seats attachments. You remove your toilet seat and put the bidet
seat on instead, Hook up the water and electricity if it is electric, most are, some arent and voila. a lot of them you can hook up yourself. some you might want to have a plumber do it. some sense when you enter the room & start heating the seat and lift the lid. then they wash you when done, dry you with warm air, wash themselves deoterize the air & shut the lid by remote control - every thing adjustable to how yiou like it.

they range in price from $100.00 $2200.00 or so.

That's quite the price range....what do you get for $100? A litttle man hidden under the seat with spray bottle and a hairdryer?

Default It works and thats all I ask of it

actually Rosebud, the Biffy I bought last year for less than $100 has served me well. it took less than 15 minutes to install and I would rival its functionality with any of the high priced bidets. It works and thats all I ask of it.

After I clicked on one of the Biffy URLs that Jinglebelle posted earlier this week, I described the device and its simple installation to my wife. She said "Order it!" I presume that both genders can benefit from this technology, although the drying process would probably be slightly more complicated for males. At any rate, we now have one on order. Don't anyone expect more than a very general description of how it works out after I get it installed!
