Not talking about normal, post - "big meal sleepiness."
This is the "serious fatigue - gotta lay down after any size meal, consisting of anything - ruining the rest of the day" level of difficulty. Anyone suffering this? Mike |

Mike, the fatigue you describe sounds like high glucose after eating. What kind of carbohydrates are you eating. Some people don't realize that carbs high in the most unassuming foods.
I may be over sensitive to what you are discribing, since I am an insulin dependent diabetic, but those office works who describe wanting to take a nap after lunch...same thing. I may be totally off base, but it wouldn't hurt to check your glucose level before a meal and again two hours later. If it is over 100 before and far over two hours later, I would see your non-neuro doctor. See what other replies you receive from this post.

I'd also check on your thyroid function. When I was really hypothyroid, untreated, I would essentially pass out after every meal. It far exceeded any normal sleepy after a meal feeling, it was more like hit by a truck...could not stay up, but it did improve after my thyroid disease was found and treated. Just a thought~

Mike,
I first thought of blood sugar too, but wonder if you take requip and if you take it before meals. About an hour after taking requip, especially if I eat afterwards, I get very sleepy and love to go back to sleep after breakfast when I can. Paula
