she, of the beautiful name who provides us with beautiful art, recently commented on the thread about the Mayo clinic and mirapex and the number of people who suffer because of it. It was mostly me ranting and raving, which is something I do. She and I may not entirely agree about that particular outpost of the Parkinson's industry empire. It's a divisive issue in all directions. and I'm learning as I go. I had never heard about a lot of these things until the lady and the guy who calls himself JimmyBear introduced me to the Amgen fiasco. So this is just something that fell on me. I fully recognize that a lot of people on this site have far more experience with some of these things than I do. we all have our own little battles going on inside the immense diversity of difficulty that Parkinson's creates.
So I hope I did not upset her or anyone else with my occasional animal howling. Take a look at the artwork blue dahlia provides us with in the art thread above. Look at each painting for AT LEAST minutes every day for 5 days. Look at the beauty of the human race and the world. Its cuts down my need for drugs. I SAID IT CUTS DOWN MY NEED FOR DRUGS. Hello, scientists. Hello??
So you see blue dahlia does not have to explain anything to me in words. She already did in art

Thanks for asking Chasmo. I'm in the preliminary qualification stages for DBS. Had the neuropsych testing last Wednesday.....passed with flying colours. Brain MRI scheduled for Next Friday and waiting for further scheduling of spinal MRI. It's getting closer, but still a ways to go.

Bob.......no worries. I have many parkie friends who were embarrassed to report the problems they encountered with Mirapex. That's why I believe the OCD is under-reported and give credence to the Mayo report....as always, I base my beliefs on personal experience, not what I read.

I'm glad you enjoy the art. It helps me a lot too.

I remember you telling me that now. You are in good hands with Dr. Lozano, he is one of the very best at DBS's.

Default Hey there!

Just wanted to say howdy to Charlie. Glad to hear your support group is doing so well. Who is a better teacher than one who has experienced it first-hand?

Default met several with DBS at clri

please keep us posted blue dahlia...you are a long time supportive member of this forum and we want the best for you. i have to admit, that in spite of all my fears of DBS and backing out of getting one, i met some very attractive people [both men and women], all professionals, who had DBS at the clri institute. they looked like they didn't even have parkinson's.

don't beat yourself up about backing out, Paula. When it is your time, you will know it.

hugs to a dear friend!
