Default creativity and pd--the beat

When you have a neurological disorder, the distance between point a and point b has changed as navigation of life is no longer a simplistic luxury. The arms and legs we wear which used to take us through our lives with smooth automation have become foreign to us. Simple movement was never thought about prior to this change that slowly surges through our body, and a new definition of performance engulfs our mind as survival instinct takes over. The body seems to have developed a mind of its own. The walk we have always known to be ours no longer is driven by a natural beat, and we stumble not only physically, but emotionally as well.

We then realize the need to create a new beat to move by. A beat that is flexable enough to change as often as we do. A beat that allows us to find the real essence of self by reinventing our purpose through examining crossroads we had never mapped before. A beat that helps the mind and body learn how to work in harmonious discovery of unity. The journey through each creative endeavor is driven by this beat, and as our lives learn adaptation to it, our soul learns how to--once again--dance.

creativity defined through parkinsons disease can be found at www.parkiejam.net (still under construction)... click on the words "the beat" and you will find the first issue. No 2 has just been released, and I am working on getting a new site together with chat and yada yada yada.. dedicated to creativity. Look for "Parkinson's Wings" soon.

thanks for the plug.. feel like a commercial

anyways, if you guys wanna contribute anything to be included.. writings, poems, artwork, etc.. just email me at lauradean360@msn.com...make sure you put "the beat" in subject heading...

Hey harley!

This is a wonderful thing to do!

Our local support groups (regular and young onset) are planning a creativity exhibit t his spring (date not yet determined).

After you send Laura your JPEG, you can send it on to me at tnpeg@yahoo.com . (Note: Put CREATIVITY as the subject). We will also be requesting to display actual items.

I will keep you posted as soon as plans are finalized.

Peggy
