Default Mercury in high fructose corn syrup.

I was waiting in the dentist office today and looking through Oprah Magazine. I found an article that said there was mercury in high fructose corn syrup. I came home and googled 'mercury high fructose corn syrup' and got a lot of hits. I must have had my head in the sand. I never heard about this.

Marcia,

Thanks for this lead. Many links to potential connection between mercury levels and autism. What's scary is that they claim that the source of mercury in the syrup is 'unknown'. Alrighty then.

One More Link in the Autism Chain

yup Carolyn and Tena posted about it a while back
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=75304

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=82617

every time I see those ads promoting HFCS as safe and people who say it isnt as being baseless in their worries I wanna yell at the TV for them to go and read the child neurology forums re the bad effect of both HFCS and mercury on neurological conditions!

I tried searching first to see if anyone had already mentioned this but goofed and just searched for 'mercury'. After I started this thread I saw at the bottom the similar threads. Sorry, didn't mean to repeat what you already posted.

Default add aspartame

And just last week I read a "ask the doc" column where someone asked about the safety of aspartame, the doc responded it was "perfectly safe". I could hardly believe it. And he's a doc, incredible.

oh I think it is great that you reposted it as not everyone will have seen the initial reports...and the more a subject like this is brought to attention, the more awareness it results in!

lurking, yes, I hear ya re the aspartame. Incredulous is putting it mildly!

Shocked

"Doctor" Braverman, who has written a book called The Edge Effect ... about supplements for the brain, TELLS people to deliberately drink aspartame beverages! That book is so awful, you wouldn't believe it! (and had NO bibliography).

I was horrified by this book, and I thought it would contain some useful information. One has to be very careful about
some "doctors". !
