Attention A movie about PD and pharma

wonder who they are consulting with - it should be us! we could send a copy of Monkeys in the Middle and there must be computer support scenes and searches.

How can they be accurate if they don't read us? well they can't.

Ann Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal - major stars.

Default some info

hey Paula -

apparently this movie has already completed filming (in Pittsburgh in October) and will be out November this year.

Caroline posted in December about Lucy Roucis a Denver actress with PD who landed a role
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread109847.html

I contacted MJFF (Debi Brooks, who did not know about the production) to ask if they knew who was consulted about PD; she referred me to MJFF VP for Development Karen Leies, who replied that MJFF had been contacted to provide some sort of background color with logos, etc., but they were unable to help because the movie is set in 1998 before the advent of MJFF. She didn't know who consulted on the movie.

I'd really like to know who they talked to and who helped Anne Hathaway with her role!

It'a about viagra, and pharma shananigans will abound because it's about a book written by a pharma whistle blower. I hope pd is given it's fair amount of fact sharing, especially with all the cancellations, placebo effect., and what a waste to not at least read monkeys in the middle. could it still lead to editing decisions? should i try to send it to ......whom?

Filmed in Pittsburgh. The Univ. of Pittsburgh is an excellent pd center. who is the researcher there whose name starts with a z? Perry Cohen went to school with him. Jim Cordy also lives in the area. i hope its going to be real and not blow off important facts that could be portrayed in favor of the viagra angle.

it should be good because its' such a professional cast and crew. Anyone know the pwp who had a roll?

Remember when they made a TV movie out of Mort Kondracke's book, Saving Milly? Our very own rosebud (Joy) was one of those consulted about how to portray the role of Milly, who of course had Parkinson's. They got it down to a science, and it was excelllent.

Yes, I hope they don't show the PWP only as some over-sex crazed maniac or focus on some compulsive behaviors or something! (snicker) Seriously, those are both possibilities with this disease, but what the public needs to see is the day-to-day uncertainty of our bodies doing (or NOT doing) what we tell them. Whenever I ihelp people file for disability, I tell them to keep repeating the word "unreliable" and the rest will flow.

Default Oh, I don't know

Peg,

Maybe showing us as a bunch of sex crazed women could actually improve our image! Beats the image we have now.
