The cyclists were excited to hear this story and promised to share with everyone they know. Several people from the area with Parkinson's rode, including two who rode the Seattle to Portland ride the week before, 204 miles, and Soccertese from this list.
suffice it to say, when nan little climbs up onto the top of a concrete barbecue at a park and describes the history and benefit of PFP, she gets everybody's attention.
PFP has been great for me if just to get me out of the house and making some wonderful friends, so thanks again NAN for your work on PFP.

We leave next Wednesday to climb the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We have been working out pretty hard, climbing steps, climbing trails and riding the bike. My frozen shoulder is partly thawed and my herniated disc only pops out every now and then. Hopefully they are both under control and I will be relatively pain-free for the trek. Happily there are three doctors in our group including the world expert on Diamox. These good friends were with us on the trip to Nepal and proved invaluable time and time again. Our expectations are high and it is with a very happy hearts that we pack our bags again. I would never have expected that age 67 and with Parkinson's I would be doing such a thing. What a fortunate woman I am!! I could never do any of these things without Doug's love and caring. Friends and family keep me going as well.

Off to the airport to go to Peru. The spirit is willing. Hope the body cooperates. This is for all of us who fight the daily fight and refuse to give up.

Here in Cusco Peru at over 11,000'. Doing fine with alt after 24 hrs. Hot and really bright when sun shines. Really Cold after dark. A guide has volunteered to carry my pack for the four day trek. My back is happy. I'm clearly having more body issues than before but I have loads of support.

At the Lima airport , flying home tonight. The trek was hard, hard, hard but beautiful and fun. I cried when I finished and others did too. I carried my pack the whole way, much to my astonishment. I couldn't cut my food but my legs kept climbing. I often thought of you all. We can't do everything we wish we could, but its good to reach high!
