Well, the Summit in Cincinnati was good.. Enjoyed meeting and talking with peple interested in doing natural things to help PD symptoms. It was kind of amazing to have people walk up to me excited to meet "Aunt Bean". Many of the speakers truly inspired me and made me think. Just considering what music choice do to cells was totally a new concept to me...Glad I don't listen to rock!!! Coming back home to the gardens was like coming to a vacation home...missed them, but enjoyed meeting so many really great people, both workshop presenters and those coming to be inspired. God Bless You All.
Hope that some of what I shared will become a part of your lives and you will find yourself with less symptoms and better health !! God Bless You..Hope some of you will come to the farm someday so we can have a longer visit Aunt Bean |

Well, hot weather is here and the favas have completely "croaked". Hardly any rain and severe heat. They are goiing to be dug under and the ground prepared for fall crops now. I have just planted two rows of favas in foot tall corn rows (in between spaces where the corn didn't come up) to see how they might do. Will plant like this again in a week or so to see if the corn will shade them alittle from the hot summer sun and help catch rain for them whenever we get some. I am hopeful. Did get enough tincture made for the year so if it is a failed experiment..its ok. I also have another plan up my sleeves for an other trial with the beans. Thank you all for sending prayers and encouraging thoughts my way. Anyone want to come help???? Blessings

Tioday we ae having a wonderful rain...how needed this has been. I have been weeding and mulching. Next Wed I plan to sow fall favas for tops (they usually don't make beans or very small ones by December....the tops are more important to me for tincture. I am still looking for someone with biology and chemistry background to help test things....is there no one out there with PD, having these skills ,interested enough in natural approach to come spend a few days??? Do I have to go to college and take biology on top of everything else there is to do!!! Surely there is someone out there who could help with this project. Think of it as a working vacation that will be fun too!
A friend just made fava sprout balls for the first time and her tremor has stopped. She was going to just quit taking sinemet, but I told her to go off of it very slowly...any of you from the Summit that are having success with the natural therapies...cut back on Meds slowly and be sure to consult with your doctor . You may someday be able to teach him something....let his office document what you are doing different and let them know any changes in your symptoms. We may be able to bring about a change in the system if we work With IT |

Wow. Her tremor stopped from the fava sprout balls? Please share what she made. I would love to be able to do something to help my Dad with his tremor.

It is easy to make sprout balls. Purchase organic sproutable fava beans . In a bowl soak 2 Cups dry beans in 5 Cups of filtered water for 12 to 24 hrs. Then, rinse and drain for 3 days. Peel outer rubbery skins off . Rinse again being careful not to brake off sprouts.
CUT AWAY ANY BAD SPOTS..and discard. .They should be nearly white and pretty. Then steam for 6 minutes ( about a cup at a time) They are ready to eat at this point or make them into sprout balls or freeze as is and eat as needed. 1 sprout = approx 2 mg l-dopa Ingredients for balls: Warm 3/4 Cup Stevia Tea (recipe below) Add one 16 oz jar natural Smuckers Peanut Butter (without hydrogenated oil) 2 TBS sorghum molasses and 1/4 teas sea salt and mix Add 1 Cup ground raw pumpkin seeds (or half Cup pumpkin seeds/ half cup ground oatmeal) Add finely mashed steamed fava sprouts (lessen other ingred. if alot were bad) Mix well and form 1 inch balls (bite size) and freeze in single layers in a container with wax paper between layers or in ziplock bags for easy access. I now eat 2 to3 a day in addition to my fava tops tincture doses. STEVIA TEA: Buy dried stevia leaves or powder (Herbal Advantage carries) place 2 teas crushed leaves or powder in a 16 oz jar. Fill jar with boiling water. Cover steep 20 min to make tea. Strain. Use liquid as a sweetner replacement in recipees. TWEEK SPROUT BALLS TO SUIT YOUR PERSONAL TASTE * add what you like. God Bless.............Happy sprouting Aunt Bean |

Had torential rains last night. Could have gotten my kayak out of the barn (if I could have gotten to the barn ) and rode the whole way to McKee Road. In front our our house was a raging river of mud , water, boards from the sides of my raised beds, mulch , watermellons, etc. Alot of cleanup and driveway repair to do. But Chickens and rabbits survived the evening along with dad & I. Some rows of vegies in the lower garden were swept away, but all in all......many people lost a whole lot more. I feel blessed to just have clean-up mostly to do. God is good. Blessings Aunt Bean

Hi Aunt Bean, I want to purchase "organic sproutable fava beans" but can't find a source either through a google search or through my local health food store. Can you point me in the right direction? Found some at Sun Organic Farm however the product description does not say "sproutable"
Thanks, Bruce |

Both of our two health food stores will order me bulk anything I want the whole bag of...so don't get discouraged, call around til you find something..it's worth it. |

Aunt Bean here...we are finally getting things cleared away from our "river" that went thru in front off the house and thru the gardens. Dad (almost 87 yrs now) has been sawing lumber with table saw and making a bridge to go across the ditch in lower garden that the run-offs we have had in the past usually follow....this did not stay in the "ditch"!!
The area he wants to gain access to is hopefully going to get mowed and become a fruit tree orchard and I want to plant blueberry bushes along the ditch . Lots of work |
