Default chat rooms

I wish more people used chat rooms!! I think the forums are great for exchange of information but to socialize with people of similar circumstances, the chat rooms are the best. When I was on braintalk I loved going onto them. I am not a chatroom kind of person, but with braintalk I never ceased to enjoy them. I wonder why people don't really use them anymore?

I agree with you. I appreciate the exchange here on a few different levels, but it is nice to meet others and connect immediately with someone who understands. I have made a few friends that way too. Others have met, fell in love, and married (one forum takes credit for at least three marriages- both partners having PD).

I would suggest the YOPA site that was hosted by a wonderful couple for many years. They were online without fail hosting the chat for 3 hours each night; of course, many of us were up into the wee hours. We will be there tonight for their final night of hosting. Another chat group has sprung up to fill the void- this new site is mainly a Young Onset group as well. Anyway, here are the links...please do pop in and say "hello"- oh, these sites also allow you as much anonymity that you like:

http://parkinsons-support-chat.org/website/ (the one closing after tonight)

http://www.chatzy.com/894580266018 (this is the new YOPD chat room)

Hope to "meet" you there some time!

Laura

Usually someone will post that they are wanting to chat at a certain time so if others want to they can log in and join the convo.

Some forum groups here have planned chat times to get together.
