Default Not Parkinson's...yet?

I got a recent dx of BEB, Benign Essential Blepharospasm. And I'm on .025 mg of Mirapex for RLS. It does seem to be happening, and even my brain function seems better. I still have the twitching in the left arm, left big toe, and right pinky toe. I guess I'm just a twitchy person!?!

Do you think that such a low dose of Mirapex would be so helpful with Parkinson's related cognitive function? Research does not show it being an issue for BEB.

Your thoughts appreciated!

Be well aware that dopamine agonists as a group have a lot of side effects - particularly with compulsions - and most of the time the person taking it thinks they are normal - and with anxiety when coming off these drugs. I had no cognitive improvement from the dopamine agonist I took - requip - and it made me so sleeping I slept away three years before I got off it. i was also extremely passive - like on autopilot. If I had known what I know now I never would have taken it. So be careful and if someone you know tells you you have a problem - listen to them.

Thank you for that warning, Roderunner. I do think I've done a bit too much shopping on ebay lately! I hope that's not too hard to get under control. But as for the anxiety, that seems better since being on the Mirapex, also the apathy seems gone too. But I did have that "autopilot" big time for a while before starting it. So hard to tell how much is the drug helping and how much is just a shift in things.

As far as if there's anymore going on other than BEB and RLS, I think time will just have to bear that out, I guess.
