(thought this deserved a topic on its own, though also on previous posting about the rally)-----
Here's a link to the viedo of Bob, the guy with parkinson's who prompted the topic. He is reported to be a nuclear engineer with a doctorate from Cornell. I have not checked the veracity of his reported profession. It is very poignant video. http://www.progressohio.org/page/com...veharding/CXYm

not at all surprised that he is bright; bright enough to do what he did. he seems none the worse for wear. he acomplished his goal and then some - will he be on talk shows? maybe we should email huckabee -yes it's Fox show but huckabee is a great, balanced interviewer. i'll think i'll email him .
and so far i see no sign of anger or badmouthing of everyone who was mean to him. could it be that he knows it doesn't work and only wastes time and starts grudges that prevent the type of communication we should be having? being compared to nazis is so yesterday....this isn't about anything except good and evil. if you don't treat others as you want to be treated, you are on the wrong side. this guy is doing it right so far, he isn't spouting hate, and i hope he has the champion in him that will enable him to be silent about his detractors. it's sooo much classier. paula

and what he did, importantly, was to show up to make a stand. I've long thought we need a group that models itself after Act Up - which remains the lone success story in terms of influencing FDA policy.
We need to do more of what this guy did - protest creatively, especially in DC and use the media for our cause. Cal |
