Politics Health Insurance Specifics

Can we list what we've heard about the bill and questions? If you have an answer or know something - could you please let us know about it?

I just heard that the people who have private insurance have to get approval of that insurance from the government.

The new law will be enforced by the IRS

The government will take over 18% of the economy.

Realized I was just rambling, and wasn't answering your question, so I removed my previous answer. Sorry it's late.

Default hi fiona!

Good to hear from you Fiona- we all love to see you come around.

Levelheaded responses as usual. And yes to it being an emotional issue and that will escalate until we find out what they are all talking about - they don't even know yet. This is really pretty chaotic. now we need people to really huddle and figure out what this means. More that i heard :

the insurance for preexisting conditons is written "temporary coverage".

i don't have time to make rumors. this is off the tv - so is it true...well i think they are trying but no one knows.

Hi Paula,
I don't have the answers to your questions, but I think a good source for non-partisan, accurate information is Kaiser Network. Health News. It includes summaries and links to various news sources and they also do their own analyses of many issues . Here are some of the pages on health care reform. you can also search by keywords (i ffound an analysis if IRS' role.) There's lots of rumors and half truths floating around, and aspects of HCR bill that haven't been well explained. Good idea to try and find and share the facts .

This is just my opinion so take it for what it is worth....-$2,000,000,000

Why not wait for a few days until this bill has actually been signed into law and the actual information about this is released to the public. To date, very little real information has been released. I learned a long time ago not to put any thought into rumor or innuendo until I had the facts. Even then will it really matter? We are going to be stuck with the results of health care reform for a while so we may as well get prepared.

1 tube of ky jelly coming up!

Just the facts ma'am
