Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed almost 6 years ago and have been, for the most part, status quo without having to increase my meds. The last six months or so, my voice is gravelly and I sound like I smoke. What do you recommend I do for this .... suck on hard candy, buy throat lozenges? Any help or suggestiions will be appreciated. Thanks ... Terri

I recommend Lee Silverman Voice Treatment.
http://www.lsvtglobal.com/ I think that tight muscles in the neck restrict air flow and can cause a gravelly voice. Sometimes people think I have a sore throat and are worried they will catch it, but it is my PD causing my voice to sound hoarse. The LSVT exercises help with this.

Here is another group that also helps with voice problems in PD-
http://www.trembleclefs.com/ They aren't very widespread yet, but they have info. on starting your own group if you like to sing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you .. I'll look into those exercises as well as speech therapy. A good friend of mine barely talks above a whisper and I'll point her in the same direction. I knew that you guys would come through!
Thanks again ...
