I would like to deep-six this med, but it does help my RLS, a condition which definitely could drive me crazy otherwise.
Any helpful ideas about substitues for the Mirapex? I don't take it for PD - just for Restless Leg. Ann |

I replaced it with ReQuip XL and all the miserable side effects disappeared.

I was on Mirapex for about a year or so in the very beginning. As I recall, my doctor had me titrate down slowly over a two month period. I had no side effects doing this. As for replacing Mirapex, I didn't. I went on Sinemet full time then.

mirapex was an insane asylum drug for me.
when they gave it to me in 1998 -I felt zero energy, and was falling asleep driving my son to school, so I had to pull over and nap , then I lost alot of my mind, refer to article below. I basically found out from others in parkieland what it did to them was like me, ocd gambling... and after my divorce in 2000 -2001 I was finally sucessful in getting off the crapola~ around 2004 but I lost my family and had signed my diovorce paperwork under the influence of mirapex! i did it the hard way cold turkey... My experience very similar to Tena's. This is a drug that can play hardball with your mind and your life. Tread very carefully, whatever you do....

this was a bad drug in the chemical trials - they have lied -big pharma,
never tells us we are still a group of people on a huge drug trial, that we did not clinically sign up for! I hate it that you dear fiona -were hurt by this insane drug, given to us by RX - I had one of my friends with PD tell me it made him feel like he was floating on the ceiling...
