I actually was at a symposium on Wednesday this week and had the opportunity to learn more about Requip XL. You take it once in the morning. See the following website for more info about Requip:

Girija,

We have had similar experiences with the agonists. I switched to Requip, then Requip XL and love that I do now actually experience hunger pains and sleepiness at night- the once a day formulation makes a world of difference for me. You end up with less of a dopamine rush based on the med half lives. I do believe there is now a Mirapex once daily as well - it was approved by the FDA in February 2010. However, all the guides explicitly state that it is intended for early, not advanced, PD! Does anyone know why this is? If we look at Requip XL it indicates patients at all stages may benefit.

I found this direct guide which has comprehensive info on Requip XL. I am cautious, like Giriija, it seems to good to be true, so I am always waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop.

A word of caution on adding an anti-depressant to the mix. I added Cymbalta ER (one a day) and found that I am now awake the entire night...not exactly what I wanted. Sigh.
