Default Pedaling for Parkinson's Seattle

Dear Friends with PD and doctors with PD patients,

A strong team of committed people from NW Hospital and the Seattle community is getting closer to the goal of setting up a pilot tandem program for PD patients with the goal of establishing a long term sustainable program that will potentially impact the lives of many PD patients.

Our target date for starting the program is in early June. The class will go for 8 weeks, for one hour three times per week. If you would like to participate, you would need permission from your doctor as well as make the commitment to come for the entire time. As a patient, you would be on the back of a tandem cycle that is powered by a strong cyclist in the front. Your goal will be to cycle for one hour, 10 minutes warmup, 40 minutes at 80-90 rpm, and 10 minutes cool down. You will build up to that rpm. There will be a class coordinator in the room to assist if there are any problems.

In our efforts to get the program off the ground in the best possible way, it is important to have specific input from you. Please answer the following questions and return your replies to me in a private message.

1. Do you want to participate in the class?

2. Name

3. Email address

4. Phone number

5. Mailing address

6. What is the best time of day for the class?

7. What are the best days of the week for the class?

8. Should we charge for the class? If so, how much?

Please add any other thoughts that you think we should know to make the class work best for you.

Four people will be selected for the pilot. After that, we hope/expect to offer multiple classes.

Thanks for your help.

Have a great day!
