Default Posting for ibby

Ibby is having a lot of trouble right now and an email of suppport would be a good idea for those who know her. She is at "ibbykenna@hotmail.com". The rest will explain itself I think:

the chiro here took xrays which showed my misalignment pattern (skull-atlas-axis) had actually reversed. so it seems i had 3 faulty adjustments after the t'giving crash. no wonder i wasn't getting better.

the chiro here is studying neurology. he is trying to help align my vertebra so there is no pressure on the brainstem causing compression on the nerves, vagus incluuded, michael. as an aside, i just learned that the extremity nerves are in the perimeter of the spinal column. that would explain alot - tremor, pain, rigidity,'gait' probs, etc.

anyway i am having trouble holding the adjustments, in great part due to the 'wearing off dyskinesia' ie drug withdrawal. i experience small subtle improvements as long as it holds. the change in the lineup of my head and neck is quite apparant to all who look. is YOUR head on straight??

paula, there IS something on the shelf already. it is not, however, pharmaceutical, which is why we never hear anything about it.

the other thing is, IT TAKES A VILLAGE, by which i mean the care and coordination of multi-therapies. upper cervical chiroipractic, massage, physical therapy, oxygen therapy, physical therapy
neurology, etc. it is sooooo hard to try to incorporate and co-ordinate htis stuff -- especiially when disabled. duh.

i would like to see mjf take all that money and establish residential healing centers utilizing the proven natural therapies above and more. wouldn't it be grand to all get together and HEAL!

we need to stop medicalizing the problem of pd and recognize it for what it is.

thanks for posting for me, rick. ibby

Default Hi....

My apologies..I don`t know Ibby but as a fellow suffere I wish to pass on my blessing and prayers for some improvement to her present condition.

Interesting about neck and spine alignment.Several years ago, since being diagnosed,I could barely walk. My shoulders were hunched,my right arm was rigid and permanently clasped across the front of myu body/.I could b arely shuffle and had to go upstairts on my hands and knees.
TYhen my sister in law who is a physio...took me in hand literally.
She drew a simple diagram of my posture.I was aghast.I looked like a gnarled and twisted tree trunk. She then re-aligned my spine and boy did it feel odd to begin with.I had previously thought I was standing straight so this newly corrected posture felt awkward and alien.
However, she freed my limbs with mmanipulation, explaining how each muscle works and what was happening in my body/brain. Within the hour believe it opr n ot,I was walking normally...I had to focus and concentrate on tellin g my legs and feet what to do but practised walking up and down my living room until it came as second nature.
I have never looked back
Come to think about it,I used to get terrible headaches and pain in my neckl.I was holding them stiffly without realising it.My jaw seemed permanently frozen [my family would say "I wish...lol" and I realised I was holding my entire frame in a rigid fashion and the non affected limbs were trying to compensate for the dodgy bits. They were working doubly hard therefore I tired very easilty.
I describe my turn of events as "my sister in law opening me up"
It was like I`d been UNFOLDED.
I urge everyone to go for physio. It gave me ,my life back.

Coincidentally, these topics are present in my life right now. I am going to massage and physical therapy 3x a week for back pain, trying to go about it differently than the surgical neck procedure [great surgeon and it has helped a lot].

Steffi, I went to the dentist because a filling fell out several weeks back, and the other night a crown came off in my dinner....lol...more than you needed to know.

I need 3 root canals and 3 crowns. Needless to say the teeth aren't pretty and mercury fillings everywhere. These are all back teeth, but I noticed the teeth under the crown immediately settled crooked and my mouth actually feels more relaxed. I also had a slipped disc and TMJ, which was quite painful. I blame dystonia and dyskinesia for all of it, but am giving my mercury filled teeth a second look.

I am actually considering dentures..it's too hard to take good care of my teeth anyway. Will i then have the white smile that all the people on television have? I'll let you know.

Pride? Not my companion on the average day. It is what it is. Ibby, I will email you tonight.

Paula
