6 yrs ago when my husband was first diagnosed, a dear friend who taught at Emory Univ Med School, gave us the name of Dr. Mahlon DeLong as a neurologist to consult. We were also told that Dr. Alan Levey, head of the department, was well respected. I do not know if either of these docs are still working, their ages, nor if they are MDS trained. Both my husband and myself greatly respected our friend's assessments, though did not end up traveling to Atlanta. We traveled North instead. Best of luck to you.

Emory is where I was first referred to see an MDS (after my primary care doctor and neurologist both said I had Parkinson's). I saw a young doctor, Dr. Marian Evatt/ She's the one who referred me to a clinical t/rial there at Emory. She's strictly in research now. Dr. DeLong doesn't see many patients, and I still see Dr. Alan (or Allen) Freeman - he's very thorough! There's another guy there that I like and have seen - his name is Dr. Factor.
