Default 90 years old & freezing

I have a friend in her 90's that is having a terrible time of freezing. Is surgery an option or is she too old? How have others handled it? What is the criteria for even thinking about surgery?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi, when I was at cleveland clinic this fall, the neurosurgeon told me that the oldest pt. they have had for dbs was 93. there is an extensive screening. Dementia is a disqualifier. other than that i am not sure. hope that is what you needed to know! FG
