Shake Em Up, Inc. A Patients' Advocacy Group Presents a One-Day Conference PARKINSON'S AND COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE, HELP OUTSIDE THE BOX SUNDAY, APRIL 29, 2007 The Center for Worker Education* 25 Broadway, 7th Floor New York, NY 10006 *Please call 718-972-7705 to confirm location or check on-line at the website for the conference, www.Shakeemup.org. This is a one-day conference sponsored by Shake Em Up, Inc., a non-profit patients’ advocacy group. The conference was organized to bring together a diverse mix of practitioners, patients, caregivers and friends in a supportive environment to discuss and share information about complementary treatments for Parkinson’s patients. This conference does not intend to provide medical advice, but rather wishes to raise questions about possibilities that can renew courage and hope for patients. We are offering nine workshops that cover a wide range of material, from new approaches to treating depression, discussed by a leading medical doctor from New York University School of Medicine, to hypnotherapy and chair yoga presented by licensed practitioners in each field. Each practitioner has had experience working with Parkinson’s patients and has practical as well as theoretical knowledge to share. Questions? Please call Cynthia Gilbertson, L.C.S.W., Conference Coordinator, at 718-972-7705 and leave a message that includes your name, phone number, and the best time to call. For a complete schedule of the days events, a list of workshops and a registration form, or to communicate with the organizers of the conference, please go to the following web site: www.Shakeemup.org This conference is created out of a deep sense of respect and concern for our fellow patients.
