Please do contact your regular doctors & your family for your past medical records and help at this time and for clarification of your PD diagnosis.

Also it is possible to have other conditions that confuse the DRs , but having some of your records or even a note from your other drs should help.

The note, report or records can be faxed you just have to send a signed request to the dr. that can be faxed to the office.

Default gosh where do you start?

It sounds like you need a legal guardian or an advocate or better yet an attorney. Are you being given any meds. where in missouri, i know a few people there- one is a pediatric neuologist who has pd herself. can't think of better qualifications than that, She is in or near Little Rock.

and do call your doctors, all of them.

best to you -it keeps getting harder but you are tough and can overcome this. just be determined ...very determined. tell yourself you will make them understand.

i could also call Bill Bell and see if he has any recommendations.

oops wrong state. clognition . i knew llittle rock was in arkansas. and i will help make phone calls for you if that can help.

and breathe, give your muscles some oxygen. PD meltdowns are pretty serious. i had acrying meltdown on one of the pAN visiting day because i went to the wrong meeting and missed the one i was scheduled. I cried thru many of the subsequent meetings but a kind florida group got used to it and just said their messsages and i just said sorry - pd meltdown.

people are not trained to know the differencee and delecate balance or lack of. a mental ward with pd by yourself is no place to remain, and withholding medicine is the same as withholding insulin.

show them this post if that is what it takes.

i'll be thinking and praying for you. parkinson disease is one long computer crash and unavoidable drug addiction. the PAN forums are filled with younger and younger people . You are still young so kill them with kindness and pee your bed over and over again. i did it because i had no choice. they were short staffed and i had to go every half an hour with the iV running thru me when i had neck surgery. Don't attempt to walk to the bathroom if you can't do it safely. the last thing you need is a bad fall.

Do you know of any local advocate groups?

It sounds like Lou doesn't have much access to phone or internet. I am far away but will try to help - can try calling Kansas doctor tomorrow and social worker if I can get the 411 on that person...Can anyone else join me in this effort? For those of us who have been through anything even remotely like this, well, I would do anything I could to move things along for her. Phone and internet access not very reliable for me either right now, but will do whatever I can...

If she sees this it may be of help, I hope she can contact her son or other family members.

Who May Request Medical Records and Who Must Share Them

[You must be the patient, or the parent or guardian of the patient for whom you seek records. Caregivers may be able to access records if the patient has provided written permission to the provider.
The US Department of Health and Human Services provides good background information for understand who may, or may not, have access to your records.]

Default called the neuro

I called Dr. Pahwa, got the recording and left two messages. In the first message i told the story, but decided to call back and just read your post.

Hope this helps; not sure if you are still in the hospital. Thanks to lindy for providing the neuro's number.

wishing you the best,
paula

On some of the forums here, members have shared contact information via PM with their online friends. Just in case that contact info is needed.

It's called an ICE list ( In Case of Emergency)

Name
address
phone #

Ideas from other forums-

**It's also good to have a short ICE list on you at all times preferable listing nearby family or close friends that can be of help if you cannot speak for yourself due to injury**

That ICE list should also list all meds/supplements you are currently taking & your Drs names/ phone# and diagnosis.

Some have mentioned a medical ID bracelet, charm or necklace to alert rescue or medical responders of medical conditions.
