I am sure they have a name for it. What is it called when a PWP tries to say a word and it just won’t come out? Is there any treatment for it?

Dysphasia is an impairment of any language modality, including the production of and the comprehension of, spoken or written language. With expressive dysphasia, understanding is preserved but a person has difficulty trying to convey meaningful responses to any questions asked. Reading and writing might be impaired, but understanding remains intact.

Greg , I had to laugh because i'm constantly having a word on the tip of my tongue but unable to "just get it out". I used to have a tremendous command of the English language (i did, i'm not bragging) so that if the word that i was looking for never came to within a flash of a second, i could cover it up with synonyms, so i wouldn't have so many "eloquence burps". NOT NOW M'MAN!
i realize that this has it's causal effects in the fact that i have advanced PD, so now, instead of being a bit embarrassed about it, i just say "you know what i'm talking about?", Right? cs "we're not getting older, we're getting bitter" |
