Question Anyone mixing Sinmet in water now??

I read long ago about putting sinemet in water and drinking it over an extended period of time...now cannot find the info for my friend. Is anyone using this method with success? It makes sence to me. She takes only 10/50, but it sometimes makes her drunk....she feels good , but more likely to fall during this time. Just wondered if adding water would help.:confused

Default a nice alternative

Thanks again to Lindy for letting me bypass slogging through the archives!

I have been intending to try this for some time now and will simply report back my experience.

Note: I made half the "recipe" so it was 5 pills to .50 or 50 ml or water

Results:

Less than one minute for drug to take effect

Much less dyskinesia and other ill effects of too much l-dopa (calmer demeanor, no rapid speech, etc.)

Much less harsh wearing off sensation (back to baseline of two years ago with tingling sensation)

Down Side:

Much more frequent intake of med like once an hour. Note: if I can psych myself into the idea it is merely a bottle of water that lasts all day...

Note: Toward the beginning, I felt like dosage not enough for me, and that is most likely the case, so I supplemented twice with 1/2 regular tab of Sinemet. This is still better than I normally feel with this drug.

Conclusion: I have concern about taking to work as I work with or around children. The bright yellow color looks like Mountain Dew. I may try on a teacher work day or most likely will try at home on weekend as a nice alternative to the grind of pill-popping. Just to feel that I have an option at this point is nice.

Well, it looks like the sinemet in water is making things alittle better for my friend. She is mixing 2 in a liter of water (which is double what she normally took) ...I think too much.
Then taking an extra 1/2 before bed. She is not having as much tremor and sudden hard on & off moments like last week before the experiment started, but hopefully she will decrease the amount she is disolving in the water. *she is under the opinion that if a little is good..more is better. My philosophy is "less is more".....but we get along!
Hope everyone is feeling the approach of spring and takes advantage of this time to stretch & breathe and grow stronger. Blessings , Aunt Bean

I've only tried this a couple of times-it didn't seem to increase the time of effectiveness however it did seem to be ....smoother delivery.

I'm going to try placing the sinemet/water in the sunshine to see if the sun will charge it.
