I'm not understanding this at all...
You do have legitimate prescriptions, correct?? Are the prescriptions outdated ? Do they say no more refills on the notes? Can't you call the doctor that prescribed them and work out something?? Or find a new local dr to see abut what you need? Most treating doctors do require at least a yearly check up in case meds need to be adjusted or changed to something else. How long ago was your last check up with the prescribing doctor? None of the meds are narcotics are they?

Hello to my former home state of missouri. I am sorry my home state is giving you some problems. I lived in columbia for a time. Medicade is changing, and I too had a bit of a problem down here.{fl.} If I understand you, a legal script is not being accepted by your coverage that you have had for a long time? If it is an insurance coverage problem, you do need to contact the agency responsible for your coverage. If it is a script problem, you dr. would change it if for some reason you no longer will be covered with your current med. Most drs. try to keep to what your coverage will allow. If this med works for you, you can appeal for coverage. Don't panic, just do one step at a time to correct the problem. Nobody wants you to suffer unnecessarily, most of all your dr. who ordered it for you. Seek the answer by following up your calls and questions and don't give up. If your PCP is out of state, give him a call. ginnie

You need to find someone to be your advocate, to speak up for you and help you to get this all taken care of.
Prayers are good & wonderful, but you need someone trustworthy to take action for you if you cannot do it for yourself. There are has to be government, state, or county health agencies that will help you. Or even a larger hospital with patient advocates??

Hello, I worked in health insurance and also have had problems filling my pain medicines in Florida due to young people abusing the same meds that I take for pain. First, you need to find out what the issue is, if it's a pharmacy issue or an insurance issue. Often the pharmacy won't tell you more than "it's not covered". If you have any type of health insurance presciption coverage at all, you can call your doctor, (have the pharmacist do it for you if they are willing and you have a good relationship with them), and get a "prior approval" for that particular medicine. It will usually cover a 6 month supply, and be for the 1 month script plus 5 refills. If necessary, ask the doc to provide you with the PA number. If it's a pharmacy issue due to abuse etc, then you have to find a pharmacy that will have the medicine in stock and be willing to fill it for you. That is usually in cases of controlled substance prescriptions in areas of high abuse. Bringing it in a few days early so that the pharmacy can verify the prescription and talk to your doctor and/or order the medicine in question is also helpful. I have such a hard time getting my pain medicine in Florida that I have to mail the prescription to the same chain in NYC that has handled my medicines for 15 years. They fill it and overnight or 3 day it back to me because even though the pharmacy by my house has verified me and the pharmacy manager is sympathetic to my condition, they are almost always out of my medication. The only thing I can do now is to check 3 days ahead and see if they have enough in stock projected to last through the day I need mine filled, then bring the script back in and hope for the best. If they don't have it, I'm SOL and have to overnight it or priority mail it to new york. I hope this helps.
