...thought I had shaken you off!

:D :D

Gooooood morning, my dear parkie-family!:grouphug:

I got a message from Lee saying you guys had asked about me, and I'm ashamed to admit that for a number of reasons (too lazy, too unmotivated, too much shoulder pain to type, probably all related to the ingestion of STALEVO, plus the fact that my daughter and family are now living nearby and I've been busy adoring my grandson, I had stopped logging in altogether.

Last year I was taken off Selegiline, which in combination with levadopa used to do wonders for my state of mind, but since the migraines just got too frequent and too long-lasting I was advised to drop it. Now I have bearable headaches, but I'm just listless and - what is worse - I'm becoming pessimistic.

You know I don't like posting negative things and I won't.
I have my neuro appointment next Monday and will definitely negotiate DBS surgery now. Charlie and Lee you both are great inspirations and I'm not afraid of the surgery at all, just didn't want to get wired yet...

There's not much new to tell, other than a wonderful storm from the sea is raging outside, gale force winds whipping the rain against the window panes, while I sit here, cosy and snug at my computer, hoping the fishing fleet is safe. Steven, you KNOW what I'm talking about. It's impossible to take a walk on the beach front promenade, the wind will knock you down - especially if you're a talented parkie, with no sense of balance, like us! :D :D

I'll make some boiled rice with mushrooms for lunch and have a baked apple for desert. Has anyone noticed how good apples and everything apple-related, from cider to vinager, is for PD?

Hugs to all
Teresa

Buenas dias teresa! Good to hear you are doing all right, and very glad to hear your daughter and her family are closer. That's a blessing...my husband and I live smack dab in between our 4 children (5 hours from 2, one way & 5 hours from the other 2, the other way!) and try to visit everyone equally.
Yep...I am not a big fruit eater, but discovered months ago that even one apple a day makes a huge difference. So vinegar is beneficial also? I'll have to up my intake of it...love it in certain foods.
I just today corresponded with a gentleman who had the DBS in the past year...he says when the DBS is on, he takes 50 mg of L-dopa 4x a day & 3 mg of Requip at night for RLS...and "frequently forgets he has Parkinson's". He was on hordes of medication before the surgery, suffering from smptoms & side effects (which is of course why he even considered the surgery).
Take care-Steph

hi Teresa!

I, too, haven't been logging in as I should, but have not seen you here in some time. I haven't even talked to you since the Germany trip last summer.
It was fabulous but nearly killed me (16 days and staying 7 places!) sorry I didnt get to visit your brother.

I'd love to catch up privately. I think I still have your email, but send me a private message in case.

Welcome home!

Peggy

Teresa!

Bienvenidos! It is so good to hear from you. Welcome back to the site - you have been sorely missed.

(Also - have you tried coenzymeQ10 as a preventative for your migraines? Since I started on it my migraines have gone away)

buena suerte!!

Thanks, everybody! I'm overwhelmed! Actually, I don't know how I could manage without your daily company - it's so nice to be back.
I might not be able to post too much until I get my shoulder straightened out (X-rays showed nothing unusual and I'm waiting for an echography to see what could be wrong), but I'll definitely be around every day.

Love ya
Teresa

Teresa
when Braintalk went offline for so long all of my saved messages were deleted (which had your private email). If you would like to correspond, please leave me a private message.
