Default Meet our star at Unity Walk!

(If this is a duplicate post, I apologize.)
The word is out that Lucy Roucis, (pronounced Roo-shiss), a veteran of PD for 22 years, who landed a role in the movie "Love and Other Drugs" starring Jake Gyllenthal and Anne Hathaway, will be at the Unity Walk in New York City April 16, 2011.

Lucy will be available for you to meet her in person at the National Parkinson Foundation Booth #8. Below is a note from a friend who has long been involved with the Unity Walk, and a YouTube link to her interview video:

Dear Friends:

Lucy Roucis is an (actress) and comedienne who plays a stand-up comic with Parkinson’s in “Love and Other Drugs” with Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal.

It took Lucy 25 years after her young-onset diagnosis to appear in a major motion picture, but she did it! That’s persistence and fortitude. It also expresses the amazing determination that people with Parkinson’s call up every day to do battle with this disease.

Lucy is an inspirational hero. If you are attending the Walk please stop by the National Parkinson Foundation Booth #8 to say Hello. If you have to miss the Walk this year, please spread the word about Lucy’s accomplishment to your friends. Every one of us can use some inspiration.

Thanks,
Ken Aidekman

Peg - Lucy is an inspiration - I had the pleasure of meeting her twice - at the first World Congress in Washington, DC and once in Denver, where she lives and is active in the local theater community. She is a true PD Veteran - Parkinson's has taken a significant physical toll, but she keeps putting herself out there. Really an amazing woman!

Met Lucy in Glasgow and had the opportunity to interview her. She is an amazing lady, and great advocate for us all. If you get the chance to see her at the Unity walk do so, her smile speaks volumes!

Default Amen!

I met Lucy at a PAN forum years ago, and she truly is an inspiration. Don't miss this opportunity to meet her.
