great to keep a parkie naturally regular. I buy big jugs of PRO brand from
Korea. I go the an Asian store (i mean where else can you get a roll of "sticky rice", for under a buck?, along with fresh spring rolls, real ones! )The different brands contain different "quality" of a beverage, i look for lots of Aloe pulp' you'll find one that floats yer boat. And it makes a great cold summer midday cocktail "one shot woodka, half cup aloe (as per concentration), i bottle spring or carbonated water, plus ice cubes: to swallow our handfulls of pills. adjust ingredients to taste! cs |

md-
I have put a temporary "hold" on it as I am simply getting overloaded at the moment. A little over a week ago, my neuro got me started on Comtan and I am working on getting it integrated into my scheme, plus bringing two "old reliables" (alpha lipoic acid and acetyl l carnitine) back online, and now tinkering with aloe! As if that is not enough, we have an increased awareness of tornadoes in these parts and I am building a "priest hole" under my stairs for those "awkward moments." But it is a temporary hold. There is decent research behind it and the initial results were dramatic, so I will return to it. And I hope that anyone else working with it will keep us posted, too. That brings up a topic that I have been wondering about. It is all too common for new things to work well at first only to fizzle out after awhile. I am sure that that initial success has a bit of placebo in it, but after a half-dozen times one gets to wondering about "habituation" for lack of a better name. Some herbs (ginseng for example) have traditionally been used on an "x" weeks on and "y" weeks off basis to get around this. It might be worth trying that approach. How's Oregon?

Waited a little too long and went off. Said to heck with it and went to bed about 9:00. Woke up about 11:00 fully on. Got up. Had snack and went back to bed still on. Slept well. Up at 5:00 AM. A little better off than usual. Meds took their normal hour to kick in. Took them with a tablespoon of aloe gel. I wonder what the day shall bring?

Just a personal experience with Comtan... not good. I was taking Tasmar with some success and no liver issues but, they took it off the market. So my MD switched me to Comtan and it's been nasty. Lots of unannounced off time. MIA doses. Days of not really being able to do anything. Loss of weight. Almost passing out. Hope your experience is better. I'm off the Comtan completely now and even before the aloe... immediately felt better. Now just on Mirapex ER and carbi/leva plus aloe. Sometimes when I know I have to be really on for an extended period of time, I add a B12 shot. I have boxes and bags of vitamins etc... enough to start my own pharmacy. Right now, I'm trying to isolate my intake to just the above so that if I feel better I'll actually have a clue as to what is doing it. The only other thing I still take on occasion is 1/2 mg Xanax if I really can't get to sleep and have to be on for the next day. The aloe seems to be soothing at night so I'm down to maybe one Xanax night per week. Today I'm going to get out and find some pure aloe gel and see what that does. |

Wow. So far I can tell you one thing about this -
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aloe-Vera-...1-gal/10314798 It tastes awful. Kinda like a lemon Alka Seltzer with no fizz. |

i have to report that i am still seeing success with the aloe. Bottom line is that i have been able to reduce my med dose by a third and extend the time between doses by 30 minutes. i am also sleeping through the night. Before, I was waking up every 3 hours and had to take meds round the clock. |

Hi, I tried Aloe arborescens, prepared by the method of Father Zago (see more on Internet), and I noticed some relief, also try to limit the consumption of carbohydrates a lot, especially for lunch and dinner, also limited the total calories day, maximum 700-800.
Bye. |

I hope Im not getting excited too soon, but I got a gallon of it froom Wal Mart yesterday, and drank about a pint of it today with meds....
That stuff is like rocket fuel!!!!!!!! I had so much energy, that I forgot to take my 3rd dose of Stalevo..I must have forgot that there is stiill something wrong with me..pd that is.. I found out 3 hours later when I woke up with dyskinesia that I still have pd, and realized that I was 3 hours late for my 3rd dose..That screwed up the rest of the day, but I am impressed with that juice..Hope it keeps working
