Default Insulin and Parkinson's again

New research provides genetic diseases Parkinson’s Clue
By admin ( May 29, 2011 at 4:50 am) · s

Their research also revealed a second interesting finding – the possible association between Parkinson’s and insulin and the related hormone known as insulin-like growth factor (IGF). He joins a small body, but more and more the connection between insulin and IGF to Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.According to the results of the study, published online in the American Journal of Human Genetics, mutations in the gene, called GIGYF2, seems to be directly linked to the development of Parkinson’s disease in people with a family history of disease. The gene is one of the few associated with Parkinson’s disease and one of two genes known to be a contributor to this degenerative joint disease, which has no known cause or cure.

Smith, an endocrinologist, and his team at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown typically focus on proteins important for the functioning of insulin and IGF. They initially identified GIGYF2 nearly five years because of its potential involvement in insulin signaling system and IGF, but not explore an association with Parkinson’s disease at the time...

...“A better understanding of the link between insulin or IGF and Parkinson’s disease can lead to new therapeutic strategies for Parkinson’s disease and a new understanding of the link between diabetes and nervous system disorders,” Smith said...

Default gut problems

And is this linked to H.Pylori as per previous threads, most recently May 23rd or so about gut bacteria,
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0522141547.htm

So much to figure out

Can we restore proper levels of bacteria and see some improvement?

Does anyone use garlic for gut problems? acidophilus?
