Hi Imad, I am afraid I couldn't watch past the lungs in a jar, I kept wondering how much it had all cost to get to that point. When I turned on my TV it was like going back 30 years, the same little faces and malnourished bodies that there were in the 80's, children with no lives in front of them, a drought, and starvation, again in Somalia and Ethiopia. I don't want to live forever, can't conceive of it, don't believe that is what we are here for. Yes, it made me uneasy too, and I was unable to watch more than a minute. They implanted a whole artificai trachea, made from stem cells on the barest framework of a real one.

I do want cures for diseases, and less suffering for people, but can't see how making our lives longer, and replacing bits constantly will do that, especially when we can't even stop wars, and ensuing poverty. Because let's face it some get the lions share and some get none. I am not sure those who get it all even deserve it, because it won't be people like me who are ever in line for that kind of care, won't even come close. And neither will the majority of people. It will always be an elite thing, with the majority on the outside looking in........ not knowing whether it is something to be desired or not.

Cures for disease yes, but for mortality?
