Default Melatonin Revisited

I thought it was posted awhile ago that melatonin was contra-indicated for PD meaning we should avoid it? Haven't searched the archives but have done an online search dating back to 1999 on if its efficacy on mice model with the most recent being in last year. Cytokines start normally but in in our brains ends up becoming free radicals adding fuel to the fire.

According to research, melatonin inhibited cytokines and protected otherwise healthy neurons from deteriorating. Thus, we could be slowing disease progression and protecting other intact neurons all this plus the gift of 5-8 hours uninterrupted sleep...sign me up!

Problem is I cannot located any clinical trials designed for PD.

I really hope that that this is not another example of research going nowhere because no patent = no profit. Looked in Clinical Trials; melatonin for AD and MS are in process. Interestingly, for PD there was a melatonin derived agonist in the works to help people with REM disorder, but it closed due to lack of enrollment. :-)

Antiinflammatory Activity of Melatonin in Central Nervous System

I have no idea on dosage will look at details of clinical trials in AD and MS to get a safety profile and potential therapeutic dosage. Just wanted to make sure there was other info I hadn't missed that otherwise state that we should not use?
