Default what would be different?

They give something 6 months and call it a placebo effect after spending millions to get there. Ceregene excluded.

The term "healthcare industry" has always bothered me. In my mind it is the perfect example of an oxymoron, something akin to "military intelligence."

Default mixed feelings about this

Thank you for posting this, we need to know. I have mixed feelings about this, and initially was quite ****** because it shows so obviously how truly money-oriented this whole industry is. I've always said I don't have a problem with folks making a living, but BILLIONS of dollars, and in such a short hoped-for timeframe (ie, before the current CEO/marketing director/fill in the blank position retiresor, more often, sells their stock in the pharma company) really? And that focus taints so many things.

But playing self-devil's advocate, if there even is such a thing, I thought perhaps this is good. Maybe now more money can be invested in things like stem cells and other alternative therapies and gasp, even plant-based alternative remedies/treatments. And honestly, with the exception of categories of drugs like antibiotics, it seems to me that so many drugs have such enormously varied side effects on people that perhaps moving away from drug-based treatments and closer towards other treatments like stem cells and regenerative medicine is better anyway. Although, Lordy knows, we sure have spent a lot of $$$ and time pursuing drugs.

Again, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
