Default Any help for Arm tremor

Hi there,

I am on this board for my Dad who was diagnosed 2 years ago. He is still not on medication. He takes coq10 and other suplements. His main symptom is tremor.

I wanted to know if there is anything that you find helpful for tremor.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Sharmila

My dad stopped caffeinated drinks as his first step, but then he needed more, so then Sinemet (generic) came next.

A friend taught me an interesting way to control tremor. At first I thought it was hokey, but it works for me. I take a deep breath in and say or think "Peace". On the deep exhale I say or think "Quiet hand or Quiet arm". At first I tried this for about a half hour before some results. The second time the tremor stopped after about 10 minutes. The third time took just a couple of minutes and now it just takes 4 or 5 breaths. If the hand keeps trembling, I move a finger about 1/4" and that stops it. This has made going to sleep ever so much easier as I'm not constantly patting myself. My friend explained that it's a form of self-hypnosis. At least it works for me.
